Over the past decade, hundreds of people have added padlocks to a bridge in the picturesque Peak District town of Bakewell to celebrate their love or remember someone they have lost. Nice walk. Go through the gate and follow the path downhill through the trees. Bakewell is sat on the River Wye, there is no better place to sit and watch the world go by. lovely walk though. The river level was low and they were easy to cross, but some steps carved out of the cliff face were very slippery. There is a plaque on the wall of the cottage on the right which informs you that Richard Arkwright junior lived here in 1778 until 1792. This was used by the adjacent quarry and was rail-connected; good views can be had from a spur path that climbs up to the top. A Gannett Company.
