During the trial Nicholas Johnson, QC, prosecuting, said the boys referred to themselves as the Laneheads, after the gangs territory around the Townsend Lane area of Anfield, whereas as Sean McHugh and his friend Josh Williams, who was also chased but got away were called Village Rats, because they came from Walton Village.
